IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) is a process where eggs are fertilized with sperm in a laboratory, and the resulting embryo is transferred into the uterus.
A typical IVF cycle takes about 4–6 weeks from ovarian stimulation to embryo transfer.
Most steps are minimally invasive and well-tolerated, with only mild discomfort during certain stages like egg retrieval.
Usually one or two embryos are transferred, depending on medical recommendations and individual circumstances.
Extra embryos can be frozen for future use, donated, or discarded based on the patient’s decision.
